Improve Acceptance Rates
When you have a bad credit score, getting approved for a mobile contract can be very difficult. Your credit score is one of the primary factors that mobile companies look at when determining your eligibility. Worst of all, if you apply too often, your credit score will be negatively impacted, making it even harder to get a phone. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to improve your chances of getting accepted, even if you have a bad credit history.
The main thing you want to do is make the contract as risk-free for the mobile company as possible. You can do this by asking for a cheaper plan, or getting a cheaper mobile phone. Better yet, you can get a Sim Only contract in which you only pay for the data plan and not a handset. Doing things like this will make your contract less of a risk because it is less expensive. The less of a risk you are to the mobile carrier, the more likely they are to approve you. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you apply for a contract and get rejected, wait a little while before applying again. Applying too often looks back, so give it a few weeks in between applications before trying again.
The last thing you should be doing to improve your chances of getting accepted is working on improving your credit score. There are a lot of ways to do this, but simply put, you should be trying to get rid of your debt, paying your bills on time, and using credit wisely. If you can do things like this at the same time you are applying for a mobile contract, you will be improving your chances on both ends. Eventually your credit score will be high enough that you can reasonably expect to get a normal mobile contract from a carrier.
