Something is missing but I am not sure what

NICK is back with another ska, sing-a-long anthem to brighten up your day but when you compare with his previous offering, ‘Oi, rude boy,’ there’s actually not much to write home about. To do that, would be a little fair however as Harrison’s previous single was something if a class apart.

‘Something Special’ maintains the murky, Indie, cheery tune that ‘Rude Boy’ started and Nick’s musky, almost forced Indie voice is still present but there is something missing from the recording and it is not easy to decipher just what that is. The track is decent on it’s own merit and, had it been his debut single, would have surely gone down a real treat amongst the general public.

Not to jump the gun, it still might but it seems Harrison’s debut single was just too good for him to follow. That, or he has just picked the wrong track to follow up with. I sincerely hope that Nick Harrison has not set himself too high a standard to follow as it would be a waste of real talent to have him always trying to live up to his first releases.

All you can do is anticipate the release of his debut album early next year and hope he is not a one-track wonder. Released: November 24
