Lemar has gone all soulful on us - and it actually sounds pretty decent! ‘If She Knew’ is by far his finest work to date as he ditches his poppy sound in favour of a deeper, soulful rhythm. Already rotating on numerous radio stations, his gentle vocals complement an upbeat, R ’n B backdrop.

What you notice on this release is that Lemar can make his voice softer and softer, exerting impressive control and making for a gentle, soothing sound. His catchy, almost booming chorus is the kind that will sit in your head for days on end, the only complaint is that it would be not be instantly recognisable. For Lemar has changed his sound to the extreme and although it is a much better, more mature proposition, it will take some time to identify it with Lemar.

‘If She Knew’ though, is hopefully the first of many singles that propel Leamr to the status of a soul legend. Released: Out Now!
