Tuk Tuk into restaurant food on city's streets

With the dreaded Credit Crunch rearing its ugly head in many sectors, companies and small businesses are having to try new and inventive ways to keep their businesses afloat. The restaurant trade is no exception, with many city centres noticing a downward fall in lunchtime business.

The Oriental at the Mailbox have decided that if customers don’t want come indoors to dine, they will take restaurant dishes out on the road to them. And so, have bought a motorised Tuk Tuk to do the job!

Every Friday until December 5, shoppers will be able to enjoy a choice of freshly prepared, hot tasty dishes from Malaysia, Thailand and China to takeaway in ‘The Oriental Hotbox’.

All dishes will be freshly prepared by the restaurant’s head chef and served from an authentic Oriental Tuk-Tuk from Salvage Walk (opposite Tesco Metro at The Mailbox). Priced at just £3.95, the dishes will be a delight to your taste buds.

With December 25 just around the corner, Christmas shoppers will be in manic overdrive trying to get everything done. With so much ground to cover on our feet, there’s no time to stop for long lunches, and a sandwich will just not provide enough fuel to keep us shopaholics going.

So in the run up to Christmas, The Oriental Bar and Restaurant own Tuk Tuk will come to every shoppers’ rescue with hot and tasty delights.
