A CITY entrepreneur with a flair for food is celebrating after opening his second city centre eatery in popular lunchtime destination Martineau Place.

Local businessman Zafar Aslam from Small Heath has already enjoyed success with his Yum Yum Chicken sandwich and panini shop on Union Street and now plans to expand his business empire by offering hot fresh recipes from his new outlet.

And it seems Zafar is heading down the road to success as people are so far clamouring to enoy the taste of his chicken dishes, which range from being coated in spicy peri peri sauce-covered to hand made grilled breast burgers.

Asked why his dishes are so popular he replied: “Everybody likes chicken; whether its grilled or steam-cooked, it provides a healthy alternative to processed food.”

Zafar's business started with a chance conversation with a friend in which they both saw a gap on the market for a fresh, chicken eatery. He explained: “A friend and I were discussing one night about the need for food with originality and how appealing it would be to have an independent local food eatery in Birmingham as opposed to a generic chain. Now our dream has been realised and this newest expansion surely proves we are onto a winner!”
